    Picked up my new X18!

Last Friday I picked up my new boat- a 2020 Xpress X18 with a Suzuki DF140A. It replaces my old 1998 H56 (w/C115 Yammie) which I absolutely loved! Choosing the Suzuki was a bit out of the box, but I went that way for a few reasons: The HP/weight ratio (the DF140A is only ~15lbs heavier than a 115SHO, and ~85lbs less than a 150SHO), reputed reliability, and gas mileage. With only 5 hours on the motor, performance with the initial set-up is impressive! I didn't expect it to be much different than the old H56, but am amazed at how much different it runs and fishes. The new boat is heavier and takes rough water better, and doesn't seem to blow around as much in the wind. It's rigged with a Solas Titan HR3 23p, and 4" ptp. With just me in the boat its running 50.8mph at 6200rpm, hole shot is good, and gas mileage is fantastic. After break-in I intend to play with different props & set-up and expect I can get more out of it, but honestly, with the way it rides and fishes I'd be quite content with it just the way it is.

I would hope you could improve the set up, I get 48 with my H 18 and the 115 Yamaha with aluminum prop.

I purchased the boat/motor from JF Marine in Prince Frederick, MD- they're a Suzuki and Yamaha dealer. John at JF has an excellent reputation as a mechanic, install was very clean, they took care of all my special requests (gauges, prop, bow graph...) and so far everything works as it should!

Nice. I also got a new X18 with 150 ShO. Added the hotfoot and another Helix 9”. I did not do the Seadeck but wish I did. You boat looks great. I down sized from a 2013 ZX200 Skeeter. And have been surprised with the ride from XPress. While not as smooth as the Skeeter it has been the smoothest aluminum boat I have been in. Good luck on the water.

Hey Dan, sweet! That must be a screaming machine with the 150 SHO! I'm surprised by the ride of the X18 too. I came out of an H56 that I thought was good, but the X18 is much better. Congratulations- Enjoy!!!
