2011 etec 250 ho with 1.86 magnum gear case
10 inch detwiler hydraulic jackplate
loaded heavy
25p rx4 67.9 with two people tourney loaded
25p fury 63.3 by myself still loaded heavy

with the rx4 I turn right at 5600 but the plate is really high like 1 3/4 - 2 inch below pad

What rpm are you running? You may not be turning enough rpms. Mark Croxton also advised me that the fury is too small of a diameter prop for this boat and that a temptest plus would work better.

I have a mercury 250xs on my boat. My runs best when the jackplate is around 2". Previously I had a 25p fury and was only running 66. I am running 23p tempest plus that Mark Croxton worked. He added cup to get bowlift as the boat runs flat. The boat now runs 68 loaded with two people and 71 empty at 5900 rpm. The prop has greatly improved the performace (holeshot, top end, bow lift).

I’m turning an rx4 25p to like 5500-5700 depending and running 68 loaded but I think it may be overtrimmed to get there what gear ratio are you running to only turn a 23p
