Im not heading down there for a couple weeks yet but the last couple years ive done well slow rolling either a large double willow leaf spinnerbait in some flavor of golden shiner, ripping it up when it hits grass like a lipless crank. Also slow rolling a swimbait like a gambler ez swimmer. For some reason I just don't seem to do well throwing a worm or chatterbait offshore there. Top water bite should be good to go. Anything shad colored.
Bass are scattered everywhere right now. I had a small 20 boat club tournament yesterday. Winning weight was a hair over 24 pounds anchored by a 11.5lb pig. Bass were caught deep in open water grass. We came in 8th with 13.88lb. We got ours in 2 to 4ft...lol.
