I haven't heard a thing about when it will open. I did hear that they haven't opened it because there is nowhere to wash hands.

We were there on Saturday. It was busy, but not crazy crowded. We caught 40-50 with 5 or 6 keepers, but no big ones. Most were on or near the bank and some off the bank, but not too far.

I wasn't having much luck on the banks Friday so went out deep and caught most in 10+ ft of water caught 1 keeper out in 20 ft had eggs still oozing out of her

Anyone have a recent report? Going there a couple times next week. Never fished there in the summer before.

Newton was tough today. Woke my son up at 0330 to get to the lake and she was a little stingy with the fish but we still had a blast. Hotter than all heck with very little wind and zero clouds. Glad we caught some though. Still amazed at how much those fish fight. Love it.

You're right. Those Newton bass pull like a freight train. A 4 pounder at Newton makes a 4 pounder at Coffeen (if I could actually catch one lol) feel like 2 pounder.
