    /rod/Reel Combo Loss Overboard?

Looking for any idea, suggestions, or methods used to, hopefully, retrieve a rod / reel which went overboard in 7-8 foot of water?

    (1) Take a swim, dive and try to find it.

    (2) Tie a Hopkins jigging spoon on another rod and drag the bottom for it.

    (3) Tie an old style metal stringer, with all the clips open to another rod, and drag the bottom with it.

I have used all three ways with success.

I have fished them out by dragging a mini grappling hook/large weighted treble on a rope.
