help with prop on 721 pro xp

I posted similar question on props page as well but thought might get better info here. I am currently running a 2019 721 pro xp with a 2019 250hp Mercury pro xs four stroke and 12 inch atlas jackplate. Getting about 75 mph at 6000 rpm heavily loaded with a 25 pitch fury 4 . I am happy with performance but like everyone else always looking for something better as well as needing a backup prop. I currently own a 24 pitch Croxton razor xl which I previously ran on a Yamaha Sho and I am interested in which hub kit I need for this motor and if anyone has experience running the razor xl on this boat/motor combo.

I would think the Razor will use the same flow through hub that the Fury does

As Triton19x2 said it’s the same hub. I’m not sure of the part number, I run a SHO. I’d give Mark Croxton a call he can give you hub information and tell you the best PVS plug set up for the Razor as well. If you ran a 721 with a SHO the razor you have should be good, you have the correct pitch, just have to get the plugs dialed in from the SHO to the Mercury.

I should have added that the razor was originally ran on skeeter zx 200. Mark knew what the prop was going on but we never actually discussed whether he tweaked it for that boat or not. I am probably going to try it and see how it runs. Will keep you guys posted.

I started out with the 24P 3 Fury and only got 5900 RPM's. When I took it in for the first service they told me I needed a 23 and swapped it out. Now I am turning 6100 - 6200. Thinking of trying a 24 Temp+ since they like to be run higher than the Fury

If it doesn't run right, I would give Mark a call. He may or may not have bent it to your old Skeeter. If it doesn't run right you could always send it back and tell him your now running a 721 with a Merc. He will certainly take care of you.

I picked up 1 mph with the 23 just because it is able to stay in the 6100+ RPM range....the 24P got me 73 loaded and the 23 gets me 74 loaded. Thinking the Temp+ might carry the load better and be able to raise the Atlas JP up another half inch for a little more speed.

For what its worth, picked up a 24P Temp+ and ran it this weekend and got 76+ out of it. Might have gotten more if I could have run it for a longer stretch and raised the JP some...just too much traffic on Memorial day. Happy with my choice so far

My buddy who is on these boards just got a 721 Merc 4s and with a 24 fury 3 blade he was running 77.0 Mph at 6k. I let him use my 25 fury 3 blade and ran 78.9mph and was still at 6k on the merc monitor. He wasn’t loaded down though. Minimal tackle dual 10ft blades, half a tank of gas.

Not worked....straight out of the box. I think if I raise the JP a little it will do a little better but have not had the chance to do that yet

so sounds like i could turn a 25 fury ok if im not too heavy but loaded looks like i will be better with the 24. I usually have two high school anglers and livewells full so might be best with the 24 and trade a 26 tempest worked i have for a 25 in the future.
    Thanks yall!
