    Stratos trailer wheel bearing question

    Hello,

Anyone know the wheel bearing part numbers for a 2004, single axle, 19' Stratos trailer?

If I remove the old bearings/races, are there part numbers on them? Some are saying L68111 race and some say L68110 race.

If its a dexter/ufp DB35 rotor or hub the number I put should be right. I should add that I converted to a greased hub rahter than the oil bath and the seal might be different.

It has factory disc brakes (surge) and factory bearing buddies (grease). What race driver brand did you use?

L68111 has an outside diameter of 2.361”

L68110 has an outside diameter of 2.327”

Both races accept the same bearing.

I have slight groove I can feel with my finger nail where the seal was riding on the axle. The grease looked good, didn't appear to have any water in it. Should I put a repair sleeve over the axle where the seal rides?

Are you sure it isn’t sleeved already? Many come From the factory with a wear sleeve for the seal to ride on.

    X2

There should also be a wear line/groove where the 2nd lip of the seal was riding.

Can you take a pic and post it?

I appreciate everyones help. I can take a picture of the axle and seal tomorrow in the daylight. It does appear to have a sleeve where the seal rides. I removed the seal, bearings and races. The bearings are L44649 and L68149, races are L44610 and L68110. I couldn't find a part number on the seal.

I can't feel it with my finger, I can just bearly feel the line with my finger nail. I'm hesitant to try and remove it and not be able to find the correct replacement sleeve. I measured the hub and axle for the seal, OD 2.554 / ID 1.687. I think National seal #470460 or NOK #AD2528E, their specs area OD 2.565 / ID 1.68.

Would have to verify, but here are the wear sleeves I ordered for my Dexter axle with a 1.68 seal surface. If you decide to do anything with them, that is. If you aren't leaking grease it may not be worth messing with quite yet.

How hard was it to get the old sleeve off? Was there and O-ring under it? What torque did you use for the spindle nut?

I use a Dremel tool to score the edge of the wear ring then pry it off with pliers. I got a piece of pipe, cap and a coupler that fits an old inner bearing without the bearing cage on it to seat the wear ring. I know it's overkill but works for me as I did all 4 hubs a few years ago. The dead blow hammer is handy for working on hubs.

I ordered bearings, races and seal (National) from Advance Auto. They had same day delivery for free, I put the order in at 1215 and it was at my front door at 130. Cant beat that.

If they are anything like the Champion trailers out of Murfreesboro they use a different bearing than normal

I took the P/N off the old bearings and races. The oil seal I measured the ID and OD. Everything went back together perfect.
