It's permanently pegged. When I turn the key it pegs a little more.
I adjusted the motor end both ways and it doesn't make a difference.
Is it toast?

That is what mine did and I bought a gauge didn’t fix it and bought a sender and that worked. Check for loose wires on the gauge and the sender under the cowl at least that is where mine connected.
Doing some trouble shooting.
I put in an old trim gauge I had (probably from my old 2.4 Merc.) and it works. So line and sender okay.
The old gauge says Teleflex 1987 on the face.
Great Lakes Skipper has one that looks the same but is stating Set up for Mercury / Volvo / Yamaha (2001 - 2011) engines.
Maybe there is nothing wrong with it? Never worked when the PO put on the 2014 Opti?
I don't want to buy a new one if I have the same problem.
