what type of helmet do you all use?

im thinking of getting a better helmet.
mine is a Harley Davidson helmet and its not a cheap one but not a really high dollar one either.
after a long ride I have started to notice that I have some ringing in my ears a little.
been doing a little reading on it and a lot say it is because of the wind noise from riding causing this and some helmets are better at this than others.

so have been looking at a new helmet and looking at getting a good one this time and plan to get a Shoei RF-1200.
from what reviews I have read this helmet is desiged to be more aero dynamic, better venting and also quieter.
any of you by chance have this helmet?

If it's warm here in S.C., most of the time i don't wear one.........

In the winter I use a Schuberth C3 Pro helmet, if it's warm and i'm going across state lines, I use one of the Crazy Al's small half helmets or a Schuberth M1 3/4 helmet.

I use a half helmet all the time. DOT approved of course but I don’t recall the name right now.

I personally stick to full face helmet. Already saved my ugly face twice dragging on the asphalt.

Mosin, I’m a safety gear guy as well. Rarely do I ride without jacket, gloves, boots, etc...

The ringing is caused by wind noise. Brand of helmet is irrelevant. Size matters. A 3/4 or full face cut down on the noise. A half helmet requires the use of ear plugs to keep your hearing. I use the cheap disposal ones. They work great.

I'm speaking from experience and trying to keep what little hearing I have left.

I wear a half helmet and use ear plugs.

I use the Alpine Moto Safe ear plugs. Worth the money.

I use a cheapo DOT half lid most of the time and have a Bell Qualifier for longer rides. I need to invest in a better helmet. That Shoei RF-1200 looks pretty sweet.

Had a shoei for 5 years was great, last year went to an AGV, I think its more comfortable, but again no complaints on the Shoei.

I use a LS2 Valiant for colder weather or if the risk is higher for rain.

Then a Bell Pit Boss half shell for when it gets hot out.

No longer ride do to a 70 mph high side get-off. Had on a Nolan modular full face helmet. Saved my life. Had I worn a half helmet or open face helmet I would have lost my jaw and face.

that's when the back steps out then catches and tosses you, sort of like catching a downhill edge on skis or a snowboard
