    Chickamauga lodging

The wife and I are booking a rental house for fishing trip on the Chic. We found waterfront house near Dayton or house near mid lake. Which area would you recommend?

Dayton for sure. Distance wise, dam to dam, it is about mid lake. Lower end where I live, you have fishermen, plus more jet skis, wake board, cruisers, pontoon boats than Dayton area. Lot choppier water.

Thank you smalliefan2. We changed to Blue Water Resort. Now just need to study a lake map!

Blue Water is a nice place. Chick is almost at summer pool, so not a lot of places to get into trouble with a boat now. But as you leave Richland creek, stay between the creek channel markers getting out to the main channel.

Staying between the buoys EVERYWHERE is a good idea. Not to say that there isn't enough water to run out side of them, but it can be dangerous if not aware of the area. Rule of thumb for first timers to any of the TVA reservoirs on the Tennessee River ....... No more than idle speed when outside the buoys. And keep one eye on the depth finder.

The Lake Lodge is great. I stayed there back in March. Clean and nicely laid out. The carport in front of your room is worth the price of admission!!!!

    Sounds good, thank you.
