    Mark’s Razor 4

    Running a 2014 Ranger 119C w/ Evinrude G1 ETEC and no jack plate. PTP is 4-4 1/4”
Running 24V trolling system, plenty of tackle, no poles, and currently turn a Raker II 26” 3 blade.
Boat comes up on pad pretty quick with RPM’s 3500-4000, rarely have the open water or conditions to see top for long but it’s touched high 60’s/low 70’s with RPM’s near 6k(I don’t have digital gauges so rpm ranges are close)

I’m in the market for a good all around 4 blade, looked at the fury 4 and RX4 but curious what experience people are getting with Mark’s Razor 4. Any one running similar setup and have a tip on pitch or input?
Looking for great hole shot through mid range and supreme handling, the 26 raker runs wild and fast but isn’t really the best handling.

I know it’s a loaded question but just looking for a educated purchase without trading through 10 props.
    Thanks guys

I'm thinking the Razor4 XL may be a better fit for your needs than the Razor4... It has more diameter and blade area.

How do I get close on pitch? I know many step down a pitch in 4 blade how does the Razor4 XL compare? The Raker II 26 is what Ranger put on the boat.

I'd call Mark/SaVonna for a recommendation… The good thing is they will exchange the pitch if you need too.

Now that’s service, I didn’t know anyone would actually work with you to get the right pitch like that. Thanks for the help Mike.

Talked to Mark today and decided on a Razor 4XL in a 25”. Thanks again for the input, looking forward to seeing how it runs.

Please post your results... Make sure you adjust the jackplate and find the best height for your set up before you post the results. After the height, Adjust the venting to dial in the best holeshot.

My 25p Razor 4 (not XL) works great all round. I have sent it back to Mark twice, and he added cup. I was having to trim all the way up, needed more bow lift.
As it is now, mine needs pitch...I get 70mph on at like 1" below the pad, zero chine, can take hands off wheel basically.
Just gonna run it this season as is...

Prop showed up tonight, put it on and was able to run for about 20-30min before a storm chased me off.
1st Run 25” Razor 4XL 4 vents wide open... boat ran night and day different.
Motor hesitated for just a split second before the rpms jumped and it shot out of the hole (hits right about 4000rpms on break over).
The lift, handling, and ability to move the hull around was effortless, low speed hold and cornering like on rails.
Was only able to run a short shot WOT... much less rooster tail and boat held more trim then I’ve ever seen
WOT RPMs were a little low, 5600RPMish
Hopefully run some more this weekend on bigger water and get a better feel, I’m almost thinking I might be a pitch too strong with the 15 1/4” diameter but overall I’m very impressed with how fun it made the boat to drive

Can you talk more about what goes in to whether regular or XL is the proper choice?

The xl is bigger diameter and has a better holeshot and load carrying potential

before you trade pitch’s. I know you don’t have a jack plate, but you might consider raising the motor on your transom one or two holes. These propellers will run higher and you should see a performance gain all around. Maintain safe water pressure.

That’s what I was afraid you’d suggest ... the trouble is if I pull the motor I would think it would just make sense to put a plate on it and dial it in from there (I had already been looking at the Bob’s pricing)... Question on the plate, I believe Ranger suggest a 10” plate on this boat, if I went that route will it greatly affect performance? In all honesty I’ve never been in a boat with a plate. Also, the 10” would be pretty tight in the garage, it would fit but tight... would a shorter plate give me the same benefits? Thanks for the help Mike, sure was impressed how much different it made the boat run

If you’re considering getting a plate, look at the rapid Jack manual. Maybe an 8in would be good enough. Get at least 6 inch :-)

Just another update, ran the boat a bit more over the weekend. I’m 100% satisfied. Only had a small window to air it out with how much traffic was on the water but was able to see 5800-5900RPM WOT and trimmed out while still maintaining good water pressure. Can’t say what Max MPH were as I was really watching Trim, RPM’s, water pressure, and other boaters but I know I saw excess of 63mph at one time. I can’t say enough how happy I am with the overall performance of the boat with this prop especially in the 0-50 range. Great handling, lift, cornering, boat control.... My wife actually commented how much smoother the boat seemed to ride over wakes and chop when I took her fishing.
Just thought I’d pass it along, thanks to those that helped guide (Mike) and big thanks to Mark’s Propeller!
Will continue to run and play with it.

I am running a Razor XL on my 12 Z519, same hull but with a Pro XS. Mine is a 24 with extra cup and pushes my heavily loaded rig to 66-67. Mark will hook you up, literally!

21XDC, could you give me some comparison on a Razor 4XL to a Bravo1 XS/FS?
    Thanks
