    Gt175

I have a 1990 gt175. It has 512227 coils on it now. The book calls for 582508 to be on it. Is there a difference in these coils. I can’t find anything on the 512227 coils anywhere. Is there a difference in them?

It doesn’t want to get on plane. I think that may be in the fuel though, or the timing. Not entirely sure. It idles fine, jumps a little while trying to get on plane and eventually does get on plane.

When it wont get on plane, push your choke in and see if it picks up. If it does, fuel related. If not, electrical/something else. Did it start recently or always been like that? Post model number as well.

I would do a compression check and check link and sync(pick up timing and max timing are critical on crossflows/insure rubber roller is on middle carb throttle arm).

Do all 6 plugs look the same? What color are they? Champion QL77JC4 plugs gapped at .030?

Compression numbers are all good. Between 95 and 110.

512227 that part does not exist must be production run number.. look at www.shop2.evinrude.com to verify.

Think your right Fred. I have a couple with the right part numbers and that number stamped on the top edge.
