The teacher asked the class for volunteers to come to the board and draw something exciting.
Billy got up and drew a fire truck. Everyone agreed it's exciting to see a fire truck.
Bobby drew an airplane. Again "that's exciting".
Little Johnny got up and put a dot on the board. The teacher didn't understand; she ask Johnnie to explain what was exciting about a dot.
No, Little Johnny said: That's a period. And I don't understand it but my sister missed her's and there is all kinds of excitement at my house.
