With all this Covid 19 madness going on I had to escape to a lake a little out of the way today. Gunlock reservoir is located North west of St George, Utah. Took a minute to get things going as I don’t fish this lake very often. I ended up in the creek channel, pitching to shady cover areas. End up with 16 fish topped by this 4.76 lb female. Many years ago it was a great lake. Occasionally one would catch 10-12 pounders. Bobby Garland (how’s that for name dropping) told me it was his favorite place. He told me about those big bass. Most of the time, you had the place to yourself back then.
I hope it makes a good comeback.
