Question for the St Louis area folks

are there any smaller public lakes that are around the STL area?
had a guy message me this past weekend and I really couldn't think of any, but I thought I remembered someone on here saying there was one outside of Fenton area that was fairly good size.
would be nice for an afternoon with the kids to have something close.

Fenton park ponds they have been quite busy bank fishing only. The county parks have some lakes not sure if they are open. Council bluffs outside Potosi about an hour drive is the closest public lake you can put a boat on and it has a HP rating I use the trolling motor there. Busch wild life area and they have a ton of lakes and they have small boats you can rent most people bank fish not sure if they are open.

George winter park which is connected to the meremac river. Definitely have to be careful and monitor the water level.

You might as well go to Mark Twain. They are catching some bigger bass from the bank in the ponds at Busch Wildlife right now
