Took the boat down to Lake Talquin end of January. Hit something under water as i was loading the boat, cracked the lower unit near the nose cone. Insurance company only wanted to replace the case as internal "appeared" to be fine. Mechanic changed it all out and no warranty due to reusing same internal parts. First week of March, powerhead busted a crank shaft. This head is only two years old, but out of warranty. Had to pay to replace the powerhead. Go through the break in process again. Just barely finished break in and last weekend the shaft in the lower unit breaks just below the water pump! This required a whole NEW lower unit to repair. Now my engine is pretty much brand new again. Insurance fortunately did a supplement after talking to the shop. They are paying for the new LU. Hoping to pick the boat up Wednesday. I dont even trust the motor a little bit at this point. Since its prime fishing season in the south now, I hope to rebuild some confidence in it soon! Ready to be done with all these issues!
Anybody catching any good bass? We have had a few good trips in between break downs.
