Yamaha manual says inspect and replace as required at 100 hours. My dealer basically said that as long as it was running fine then no need to replace. Since I was used to the Mercury Pro XS 2 stroke that requires replacement at 100 hours, I had my Yamaha 250 SHO spark plugs replaced at 100 hours. Probably an over kill. My top end was no different so my old plugs were still good. So I think your dealer was following Yamaha recommendations. So if you aren’t seeing performance issues, you are ok.

Follow manual and inspect. Look for anything unusual.

At a minimum it will breakup any corrosion making them easier to replace later.
