    Gas level

    Hi guys

Bit of a guess I know but anyone worked out roughly how much gas there is in a 619 tank when the factory gauge reads empty?

    Thanks

My guess would be 1/4 tank left but could also be empty.

My 721 shut down with 1/4 on the gauge the 2nd time I had the boat out 5 miles from the ramp so it never gets below 1/2 now.

On my 921 my fuel gauge was reading about 1/2 on the gauge, when I fueled up I was able to get almost 34gals in the tank.

I've got a 2013 619......I'm putting it at 6 - 8 gallons. Since the gas gauges aren't too accurate, for the first couple years I kept track of how many gallons I would put in comparing that to Merc monitor gallons used just to try to get an idea of the gas gauge. I've been close to E in fall when fishing the river and do my normal quick honey runs without worries....but obviously not running huge distances.

Way too inconsistent. The only guarantee is the Mercury smartcraft monitor. You are playing with fire trying to go off the gauge unless you fill up every time you go out on the lake.

I agree the standard gauges are inconsistent. I have a 2012 619 with a 200 SHO. When my gauge first gets to E, I still have almost half a tank. So, after I get to E, I'm running blind. For that reason I have rarely put more than 20 gallons in my tank. Next go round I will have smart gauges so i can use the full capacity of my tank.

My gauge read that I had a half tank left and when I filled up, it took almost 50 gal. I go by digital readout on my Lowrance after that.

Thanks guys. I was trying to work out how much older fuel I might have had in there. I put 16 gal in and the gauge read half way. But as you all said, who knows

Time for an integration with the HDS.

    Thanks all!
