    Using Toothpick for your weights

I know this is old school, but i'm old school

If you use a toothpicks for your worm/bullet/flipping weights don't just push the toothpick it then snap it off.
it works, but then you have a hard time getting the toothpick out of the weight, you end up grabbing another weight and remove the broken off toothpick later.

What I do, I push the toothpick in and clip the toothpick with nail clippers with a small tag end in the cavity of the weight. If you need to remove the toothpick,
just grab it with your needle nose pliers. I even reuse the toothpick at times, its already cut to the correct length.

Works awesome, Ive been doing this for years.

I took a round bend worm hook and cut off the round. It left a straight wire and I use that to push out the pick. I keep it in my hook box.

If you change the weight with the toothpick in it for a new one, the old one's toothpick dries and will push out after a day or less.

Better yet use a piece of .035 or .040 wire. Stick one end in a worm weight and smash with a hammer. Now you got a handle and easy to pick out of box.

Tie a double overhand knot opposite the toothpick before cutting it off. Pull the knot through the sinker and it will push the toothpick out.

That's what I have been using for years. Just carry some of the small ones in your weight/hook box.
