    2013 RANGER 520C SETUP

2013 520c dual console, 8' slidemaster, mercury pro xs, 25 3 blade fury worked and balanced by croxton, have had the motor all over the place. It either chine walks bad or throws a weird rooster tail thats rear fat and over to the starboard side. Any help or ideas would be great.

3 inches prop to pad for engine height. May be over-trimming.

520 hulls don’t usually need full trim to get maximum speed, they will actually over trim and slow down by about 3mph. I think from too much wind drag.

The boat will chime walk you just need seat time to learn how to stop it from starting and control it. If you have a hydro jp start at 3.5 below pad and raise 1/8” at a time. Like said above this boat doesn’t need full trim.

What's your WOT rpms? 25p is a little light IMO. Maybe a 25 in a 4 blade, but would think in a 3 that a 26 would serve you better.
