    Neddin' for slabs ...

Hit the mother lode of panfish today, easily a 30 + fish day. It was slow at first until I figured out what they wanted, which was an improvised downsized ned rig. If that aint the ugliest bait but the fish didn't mind. Once I tied that on it was lights out. I used a 1/16 oz sickle hook ballhead jig and a shortened ZMan TRD stick bait. Either let it sit or slowly drag it. The bigger gills averaged around 9", and at least two of the crappie were 12". I got a couple of runt bass in the mix, but they were outnumbered by the slabs. Here's a few highlights. What a blast

The first time I tried that design and caught fish I was shocked ! Doesn't look like much but must move just enough in a way fish attack.
    Nice catch!

I use Berkly gulp alive 1 inch minnows or crickets on a drop shot rig. If I get them on beds I literally catch them on every cast and a lot of time never have to move the boat for hours.
