    CPI Index

With the price of gas falling, wages declining, cost of airfare etc. does anyone think we could get a negative or very low CPI reading? This would tie in with social security, commercial rents etc. I have an account I manage where the payout is tied to CPI so I may end up paying the beneficiary less if the CPI number is negative.

A person cannot have their benefit reduced due to the CPI index. We can get zero, as was the case in four of the previous administrations eight years.

That was the first time it happened since SS started.
