The 300 R sportmaster also seams to have more lift built into it as well. I know its bigger than the old 3 ltr. Sportmaster.

I have run mine with the Pro Max up to and possibly over 1.5 above pad and the is on a Bass Cat. I have a Bobs Extreme and was running 84 at a 4.2 setting on the Bobs. Was pretty disappointed and figured a couple bumps up will not hurt. I took to 5.2 and gained 5 mph in just a few seconds. I had more rpm left but was scared to go higher and ran out of lake. My motor can only one more hole higher so I think that I was around 1.5+ above pad. To say the new SM like to ride high is a understatement.

I agree, the new sporty on these v8's are massive. I think with the added length and diameter its punching a much bigger hole in the water and thats making for some prop challenges. I do know my boat rides much higher in the stern and bow. I really like the way it handles in rough water, seems to really have helped the over-all ride, but works against itself when trying to put up numbers. Bullets don't need the bow pointing to the sky to run good, I always have carried the entire boat just out of the water, never as high as its running now, so I'm having to learn to drive it all over again (without killing myself and 3 ducks in the process)

Cutting the barrel down actually makes coming out of hole harder...it’ll cause the prop to slip a little more than a stock prop will but you just got to find a balance of what you are looking for. I’ve still got my 32 Bravo XS 1 if you want try it, just cover shipping, and I’ll send it to you..if you like it, I’ll sell it..870-230-2350..

I found the problem with my 300r. Engine comes filled with oil from the factory and the dealer also filled it...I drained 9 qts to get it just below the 3rd bead on the dipstick..Tried the same 29 Max5st this morning and ran 92.7 at the limiter.

Wow!!!....That is incredible! I will check my oil tomorrow. As far as the 29 Max ST goes, how is hole shot compared to other props that you have tried? So far my best hole shot has been with a 28 Bravo FS. Do you have any comparison? And if you are on the limiter then are you selling the 29 lol. Plan on ordering a Max 5 ST in the next few days and thinking 28 but now you have me thinking 29.

Save alot of dollars and order you a PowerTech BRV5. Same blades as a bravo and about a 1/4 of the max5 cost. You will be surprised with it.

If you’re referring to the PowerTech prop they already have 5 pvs holes. I put 5 solid plugs in mine, haven’t tried it with any open holes or small plugs yet. I may try different plug combos when I get the 30 I ordered but so far haven’t needed to with the 28.
