Was windy out on tippy today

White caps rolling down the whole lake the whole time I was there. Ended up catching 5, two biggest (3 1/2 and 4 3/4) came on a jig. The rest on a chatterbait.

Couldn't buy a bite on a jerk bait, even though the 2 biggest on a jig were out in about 5ft of water along a drop. Same area I had already worked with a jerkbait. Don't know how much water temp dropped yesterday with the snow, but it was mostly 47-51 today.

Every day fishing is a good one in my book.

The two on the jig were accidentally. Got it out to flip a tree, and made a cast as I was turning the boat around. Had a 3rd on the jig that I lost at the boat. Wish I had figured that bite out sooner, think I could have caught quite a few.

I always liked fishing Tippy. In the wind not so much, but at least you caught some fish! Joe do you launch at the old Dance Hall?

Wind is terrible here too. 25 or so, whitecaps, sometimes my old Stratos slams down so hard I fear my patched up hull will shatter.

Very true, but the older I'm getting I think I'm getting pickier on the days I go out.

I always just launch at grassy creek. Ramp has some holes to watch, but always a place to park.

I fished Tippy for the first time a couple weeks ago, launched out of grassy Creek. Caught a few nice fish before it got windy and cold.

What other lakes are you guys going to on the north side? Just moved to Syracuse last year and fished wawasee a handful of times. Used to fishing big lakes in VA.

I mostly fish mississenwa and salamonie because they are close.

I used to fish Wawasee a lot as well as Tippy, when I lived in Marion many years ago. Other good lakes up north are Chapman, near Warsaw and Webster at North Webster, Indiana. Many of the natural lakes are good fishing. Loon Lake used to be very good. It was kind of a hidden gem so to speak until the Muskie fishing took off there several years ago.
