Lake Thurmaond

Anyone been to Thurmond in the last week or so?

Herring spawn is on, but with the water so dingy, poor topwater bite. Got about 30 by 11am Tuesday, with a couple of big skinny spawned out females.

Thurmond, Clarks Hill or Lanier

Yes I know. John Jackson location says Flowery Branch which is near Lake Lanier. That's why I asked. I grew up on Clarks Hill & have fished it for over 40 years. Strom Thurmond Lake was non-existent, name wise. Everyone knew it as Clarks Hill & most guys still refer to it as that. But things change & a lot of guys only know the SC side as ST Lake & some refer to Clarks Hill as the Ga side.
It will always be Clarks Hill to me, all of it.

Clarks Hill is still my favorite lake. And my report was from Clarks Hill.

Thanks John. Can't say Clarks Hill is my favorite though. I actually have 3 favorite lakes.......Okeechobee, West Lake Toho, and Lake Kissimmee.
