Daiwa , but I’m bias... I love the way they cast and very smooth when reeling. Super durable and have good drag when fighting these mean Coosa Spots.

I agree with him ^^. The Diawa Tatula 100 (TTU series) are the best bang for the buck baitcasting reels.

I've always been a fan of Shimano for smoothness and distance. Maybe I'm just used to how their braking system acts and that's just what I'm the most effective with.

Same ole Ford vs Chevy, they all make good reels. I have mostly Revo's but do have a few Tatula's.

I own many reels with several being JDM and new releases.
#1 is the Chronarch D7. A workhorse, smooth powerful and reliable.

All of the reels stated are good. That said, most of the parts in them are interchangeable with the bass pro shops pro qualifier 2 reels (made by the same manufacturer). If you want to upgrade a PQ2 reel, you can go to Acer Bearings (https://www.acerracing.com/?gclid=EA...SAAEgKru_D_BwE) and for under $20 upgrade the reel bearings. You will then have a low cost reel that is the same as a Lews and will cast just as far (or farther) and smoothly. I have both and prefer the BPS reels. My oldest BPS reel that I'm still using is about 12 years old.

Tatulas have been awesome, most of my reels. Have a Shimano DC for bomber casting and a Lews for flippin.

I’m fishing the same 2 Shimano Chronarchs that I bought in 1998 for $200.00 a piece. Never replaced a part. I have now gone online and bought 4 more at $100 a piece. I have some new Shimanos and some Johnny Morris reels but nothing comes close to the Chronarch in my opinion. I bought my first Bantam 100 in 1979 and still have it. I had 15 Shimano Tiagra 50’s, TLD 50’s 30’s and 20’s I offshore fished with for 15 years. Blue marlin, big eye tuna, giant mahi and wahoo out of Hatteras, NC. We had ZERO trouble with any of the offshore reels. They put Penn to shame. Durability and drag smoothness are second to none. Over 30 Shimano reels I have owned without an issue.

Under $200 would have to be the Shimano SLX DC, over $200 but under $300 would definitely be the Shimano Curado DC.

I would say right now probably the Revo STX, I just saw it somewhere new for under 150$. I know I got a Revo Premier for $150 around Christmas, new from Cabelas. I know Bass Pro/Cabelas had some great deals with a trade in coming up in their recent add.
