    Fuse-Mega 360

I replaced my non Mega with a MEGA, being a typical male, I didn't put a lot of attention into reading the manual. Are the fuse sizes the same for both units?

I used the same connection/power cords that I had for the 360. I have two (one for outboard use waters and one for electric-only waters).

You can order flat fuses 1 amp size from: https://www.oreillyauto.com/search?q=1+amp+fuses

I am having trouble blowing the 1 amp fuse. Tried different power cords, 12 v batteries, in boat and out of boat and fuse types. Anyone else having this. Humminbird backed up and says they will call me when I can send transducer back. Hooked up an ammeter and it spiked over 3 amps and blew fuse.

Amp draw on mega 360 is about a 1/2 amp the reason for a 1 amp fuse. I wouldn’t try a larger fuse as your liable to fry something. Sorry to hear HB is backed up and will have to wait on a call from them to send it in but it does sound like you have some kind of internal issues with the transducer. Maybe someone else will have a constructive comment to help out.

Thanks. Tried flat and slo-blow glass fuses. Are you using a regular or slo-blow fuse?

I’m using a standard flat 1 amp fuse I ordered on line from O’Rielys Auto Parts and never had a issue or a blown fuse. I have all my electronics wired to a fuse box just for electronics only and the fuse box is wired straight from my 100 amp house Ionic lithium battery.

Finally got Humminbird to take unit back. They did not repair but replaced. Back in boat and working great last Sat. Woke up Sun to lake frozen over. Got 1 good day this year. Like most Chicago fans, waiting til next year. Thanks. Afraid to take it on the ice.
