    1996 202 w/ a 350hp flashed SHO?

Highly considering buying a 350 hp Hydrotec flashed SHO in the coming week. My 202 has an 8 inch rapid jack magnum plate with cable steering. What prop? Bravo? Tempest? What pitch to start with? 26? 27? Any advice on setup is appreciated. I was thinking that someone on here had a 203 setup with a SHO a while back that ran in the low 80s.

I think you could spin a 30 Bravo xs no problem. Does the gear case have any mods? It’s gonna be fast.

It’s currently on Wayne Worthy’s Stratos. Matt told me it had everything Hydrotec has to offer on a SHO. I failed to ask about the gear case though.

You’re getting up in some thin air.
For sure I’d leave the cables. 90 mph with hydraulic is not fun to me.
Prop? Good guess but usually 10 hp gain turns about 1” in prop. But a 37” prop sounds huge. Probably a 30-32 is going to get it done.
For sure it’ll have to be a high speed lower unit. You never ever want to tease blow out Trust me on that.

I’d get with a real fast boat prop guy like Steve at fork because you’ll be all over a 100 and you need to work with guys that have been there.

Thanks Pat! Can you educate me on a high speed lower unit? I know it’s got an ECU flash / blowout ring / solid mounts / nose cone / heavy duty prop shaft.

I want the same motor and set up on my ‘95 202! I’ll be very interested in how it all comes together for you.

Nose cone is exactly what I was talking about.

Is this setup for racing or for fishing?

Brings back memories of my Hydrostream years.
You'll need a hydraulic lift and low water pick up.

Heck yeah, I'll drive up to Missouri to drive that thing. I've been in several 90 mph champs, you're potential is a hunnerd.

That is a bad boy SHO. From what I've read...the case on that mota is good to 100 plus. Steve will know what you need...or dont need. Give him a call. Great guy. I'd highly suggest one of his plates as well.

Cant wait to hear your reports!! 2 thumbs up!!

Not sure who it was but a fellow bbc member out east put a stock 250 SHO on a 203 and was hitting the 80 mark. I would let the boys at Hydrotec dial the boat in as they have the experience to do it.
