Jackplate recommendations for 2007 X19 with 150 carb Vmax

I bought my son a 2007 X19 with a 150 Vmax a few days ago for his high school graduation. The boat runs out good for what it is, he's bumped 60 mph solo with a fishing load. I ran it to 59 mph solo this afternoon.

The boat does not have a jackplate, so I'm looking for recommendations from the guys that have been there and done that.

What has worked well with this setup?

Joe, I would look for a 8" or 10" manual in the for sale section here on BBC. If you want hydraulic Bob's seems to be popular along with Atlas in that order.

Very happy for you and Seth and this boat will serve him well. Used Xpress bass boats and an X19 in particular are hard to find.

He may want to borrow your Allison on tournament days for a little edge getting to the honey holes. ✝

You are both blessed to have each other.

I owned an X19/150 and it had a 6in jackplate.... I went to a 10 in and it did nothing better. It handled/cornered better and a better holeshot with the 6in on my rig.

23-M that really needs to be cleaned up on the leading edges.

Thanks! I have a similar boat setup

As far as the jackplate, I have a 6 inch on mine and see around 55mph running a powertech prop (not the ideal prop for these hulls).

We fished a small local tournament today and with me and my son, he hit 57 mph with 3/4 fuel and our tournament load. I looked closer at his prop and it's pretty rough, I need to get it cleaned up soon.

Have you tried a 23-M or a maybe a Tempest?

I just picked up an H18 with a F150 yamaha 4 stroke. Got my water pressure gauge installed today raised motor to 3.5 PTP. Was too windy to run it today but hoping to tomorrow. Very similar to an X19. I have a 6’’ jackplate and a 21 powertech is on it now. I can let you know what it does. Been told a 21 tempest or turbo should work well.

Ryan, the H18 is constructed with.100 ga. aluminum and the X19 has .125 gauge. Since your boat is lighter you MAY be able to run a 23" Tempest. Try raising your PowerTech up some more and if you turn over 6000 then try a 23 Tempest.
