ever get the itch to build your own?

love the bikes and always have. but the more I ride and the more I read the more I want to build one of my own.
my wifes uncle built on from scratch and took him 6 years and he did all the work himself other than paint. its modeled after the movie Easyriders American flag bike. is a real piece of work also.
I would love to be able to build my own or find a project bike that someone has lost interest in.
how may of you are the same way.

My brother has a chopper that's about done. Needs disassembly and paint but that's about it. Buy a salvage bike to have a title. It can be a real pain in the ass if you don't You need that paper to prove it's yours in most places.
Write down where you bought EVERY part and keep the receipts as you may need to prove it as well. See what your state says about custom bikes. Start with the State Police.
You will save a ton of headaches if you know the rules up front.

If your state is anything like Indiana, BMV will issue your vehicle ID. A couple of papers to fill out.
My fun days are about over for doing that. Id rather just turn the key
