Good question. I know that in Arkansas at least, when they reported they reported both pending and active, but I'm not sure about everywhere else.
Local radio station, Baltimore area, has been non stop talk about unemployment and the problems people are having. The system is still overwhelmed.

The unemployment numbers seem irrelevant right now, since they will make more money than working. It won't become a relevant report until the spiff ends at the end of the year.

My son said his friends that have been laid off are absolutely giddy about getting $2,400 per month to spend, on top of the bonus $1,200 one time payment. They've spent it already in their head. The general thought is that everything will fine at the end of the year when the spiffs stop, so they aren't concerned about saving the money.
