    2.33 update head unit only?

What would happen if i disconnect my gls10 and
run 2.33 update for head unit only,?
I'd like better side vu if its legit but Not if
    it ruins my livescope.

    Gls10
    106sv

    Thanks

I'm interested in this as well...however 2.33 is the latest GLS10 software and 11.20 is the latest EMU software. If you download the latest file (2020.0319.0) and run the update on only the EMU (GLS10 disconnected) this should work. I asked the same question in the thread to Todd Driscoll this morning. A few guys suggested doing exactly this...however Todd has yet to respond to confirm.

I had accidentally done this. Recently purchased a 106 and updated to 11.2. And bought a livescope after the fact but did not update. I'm not sure what kind of image I should anticipate as I am a first time livescope user (gain seems clear around 70-80), but I'm also able to run the perspective view without updating the box. I'll have to check and see which software version the black box came with.

Toby, yes if you disconnect the GLS10 ethernet cable from the Ultra unit, you can then install the 11.20 bundle update (that does include the 2.33 GLS10 update) and only update the Ultra unit.

    Ok
    So its possible,
    Now is it worth it?
How much improvement is the side vu?
I'm evaluating whether to sell my GT54 transducer
and eventually get a Humminbird Helix gen3.
The ONLY reasons I'm contemplating this
is ilove touch screens and Humminbird asks another 1000$
    for that luxury.
Also, linking 2 Garmins together eventually
    would be nice.

    Thanks

I actually did this on accident. My livescope looked pretty dang good yesterday while crappie fishing. Nothing for me to complain about at all.

I was on the lake yesterday with the Livescope fishing. I had rolled back to 10.0 and 2.20. Everything looked very good. This morning I updated the head unit only (Ultra 106sv) to 11.20 and left the Black box unplugged. Returned the unit back to factory settings, turned it off, then connected the Black Box and started the system. Copied Waypoint file that had been saved. Everything looks good. Have not been back out on the water yet.

Is anyone going to post some pictures showing how good the old software is?

What he said. Would love to see some good images from those of you that rolled back to pre perspective view software.

Happy with 2.33 improvement on SI/ClearVu. Would like to see some old software pictures to really see if my 2.33 is as good.

If you do all that, what would be the difference between what you say and just installing the last update. It reverts the GLS to 2.20 but keeps the other features of the previous update.
My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.

2.33 does not effect the GT54. That is controlled by 11.20 on Echomap units. 2.33 is the latest update for the black box.
