    Battery Terminal Grease (lead acid)

After cleaning a battery terminal what are you using? Dielectric grease, white lithium, Vaseline, or something else?

I have seen people glue a penny to battery top.. Copper accepts the corrosion.

Any paste, gel or liquid that covers the metal will reduce corrosion if it does not conduct. Oxygen in the presence of a conductive liquid and electricity causes corrosion.

Don't add any metals to attract corrosion. Maybe in Fort Phantom Hill Lake it does but not around here.

Thanks for the suggestions! I have always used open gear case grease, but ran out. The penny deal sounds interesting!

Well, I guess if it makes you feel better you might as well do it. A penny is cheaper than a visit to a psychiatrist even with insurance.

It's a clear synthetic dialectic grease, good to 450°, and can be purchased at Harbor freight. Use it on all battery lugs/connections, seat pole bases, etc...
