    Overheat Temp Alarm..

    300 Pro XS 4 stroke Ser #2B689056..what temp does engine have to reach to sound the overheat alarm? Thanks..

    Good question. Since there's not an "overheat alarm"- let's look at when the engine might sound a Critical Fault Warning (or enact Engine Guardian and limit your available power).

    Thermostat begins to open around 130-135 degrees, and is fully open at 170 degrees (F).

    Normally overheat condition would be (approximately) 15 degrees above the FULL OPEN temperature, but can vary depending on the engine's calibration data.

    I have seen 175 before on the smartcraft after coming off plane down to a idle after a hard run with no faults or buzzers..after that temp starts dropping down..
