    Echomap 93sv question.

My friend And i both have echomap 93sv with livescope. His is a year newer. Neither of us have done any updates since purchace. His doesn't have the false arch ( ghost tree ) and mine does.

So just to compare pictures, I hooked my head unit to his transducer and power cord. I got a message "transducer not detected." )

Why is This, shouldn't I be able to just swap heads from one boat to another?

Both units work well on original boats.

Are you also hooking up the network cable that goes to the black box?

Before powering up, wiggle the connector for the power going in to the black box. Tighten connector ring good by hand. Start up and should be good

I unhooked and hooked it up 3 times without success. I hooked his back up and it worked perfect.

Are they set to auto detect the transducer used? Mine has setting to auto detect or manual input, just a thought.

Is your black box on? What code is it blinking? What voltage are you getting? What size wire is run to the unit and box?

Could also be corrosion in the cradle pins

if any of this were true , the original heads would not work on their original boat. When hooking back to original boats both work.
