    Water pump base

Should I replace the water pump base when I replace water pump kit just because of age of base if there is no problems with it.

I would change pull it and replace the gasket under it every so often. The base itself is probably ok unless it show wear or damage.

Definitely pull it and replace the gasket (and o-ring) when doing a complete water pump kit.

If you would, please take a moment to review the Announcements, and be sure to provide the Required Info (serial number) when posting. Thanks!

When I do a water pump on my boats I always do the complete kit from base up,this way I check the oil seal an bearing at the same time if it needs replaced I do it,plus you have peace of mind that when you put the lower unit back up everything is new
