Upgrading Helixs

I have a g1 Helix 10DI at the bow and a 12SI at the dash. I want to put a 12mega+ at the bow and 12 mega+ on the dash to replace both of these units and add M360.

My question is, should I spend the extra grand each to get the g3n's or is the g2n about the same?

If you want a MEGA 360, it HAS to be connected to a Helix G3N SI+, Helix G3N DI+ or SOLIX G2.
I assume "extra grand" refers to the SI units being sold by Bass Pro, Cablas, Scheels, and some other dealers. Those are special run models of the discontinued 2017/2018 models with HW CHIRP in place of 83/200 kHz 2D sonar. They don't support the MEGA 360 either.

The G3N units with Imaging are + models, meaning more power and standard HW CHIRP 2D sonar.

If I'm understanding correctly, the m360 replaces the SI for the bow, so put a g3n 12 DI at the bow and a g3n 12 SI at the dash?

Yes that is the best choice and at a lower cost than two SI units.
