New boat, best protection for gel coat?

I just got a brand new boat and was wondering if ceramic coating on gel coat is my best option for long term protection. I have ceramic coating on my truck and wife’s car and we are happy with it. If anyone has used ceramic coating on their boat let me hear your comments, good or bad.

The best protection beyond any comparison is a building to keep it in. Nothing else is even in the same league. If you do that, you can polish it with buttermilk and it will stay shiny. If you leave it outdoors, nothing you can apply will do anything but slow down the damage.
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
    nothing else matters.

I have a 2007 stratos 200xl that looks as new. It is stored inside, waxed and cleaned often.
