I couldn’t afford the premium gas in them if I could find some.
The 455 was the smoothest running of all of them

I don’t have a pic of the 428 Cobra on my Computer.

I had one of them.... but it was a 69 SJ and had the 390 hp 428 in it...

Looked like this one.....except mine didn't have the hood mounted tach on it.

I now drive one of this.....when I feel the need for speed.......(kinda makes my Ram 5.7 Hemi with 3.92s feel quite wimpy...)

I never owned a muscle car, even though my dad and I tried to buy a '69 Mustang GT. They wouldn't sell it and it still sat in the same spot 10 yrs later. My son has a client that just bought one of the most awesome engines from the era.

Wish i had a picture on my phone, but you guys will laugh if i did. My first car was a '75 Mustang II Ghia. Had a 302 in it and would run good for that little car. Surprised allot of guys when i was able to run with them. Had a real hard time keeping tires on it.

My 69 z-28 at my parents house in 1974. Just pulled the motor. Loved that car.

Wasn’t the 69’ 428 Pontiac rated at 360 horse and mid 400’s for torque? At 70K I pulled the 455 out and freshened it up. Ran much better with a 3310 and a cam with a better grind.

I sold my 55 2 months before graduation. 1969 a friend that was buying a new GTO Judge sold it to me. The 66 had 18000 miles on it when I bought it. I got $600 for the 55, had $1200 saved —- $1800 and I have looked at a dozen in the last few years — most decent ones start out around $22K.

This is a good friend’s 64 factory LIGHTWEIGHT ( talk about rare). It was a factory R-Code (427) It was a record holder for years, may still hold the record. Ran across the article looking for something else. Someone knew Mike owned it from the article. And he owned two 63 1/2 Galaxy’s also.

not the HO version....and it was 465 for torque

In 1969, it could be had in 360 hp, 370 hp, and 390 hp versions...don't remember exactly what the differences were tho

Now I did have a 72 Camaro like the one above but since I didn't have pics I stole this one offline. There were a few differences. I had an RS not Z28, wasn't built as split bumper but converted, no racing stripes but it was GM Orange. It also had a Pontiac 400 and a Ford AC compressor. The .308 rear end didn't help me light to light but from a roll I terrorized the 90's Fox bodies, they couldn't out pace that Pontiac powered Chevy pumping Ford AC.
