sorry, we don't owe ourselves in the current climate (last 20 years ) , we owe china the interest. Forget paying interest...…………...we are barley able to pay the interest on our national debt...…………………………………..We can continue to print (dollar billsl , although electronically which is even worse) devaluing the dollar. Once China is considered the currency of the world LOL its all over for our economy.

China is a drop in the bucket and not even the largest foreign investor of foreign debt. I don't how or why that myth started years ago and still goes on today. Heres a good up to date breakdown

China has been dumping our debt for a few years now to support their currency. Investors all around the world love our debt because it is the safest and currently one of the last remaining gov't issued debt with positive yields.

Estimated US population is 331,002,651 according to Google search. I'm not a math wiz, the $2,000,000,000,000 stimulus bill, if passed to the population, would have given $6042.25 to every man, woman, and child living.

Methinks that number is somewhat smaller if you count legal residences only.

the biggest problem i see with bailouts of this kind is the fraud an waste there is in it like telling banks to loan money under real life times they couldnt show any way to pay it back.

Interest on debt in 2019 was approx 593 billion. Budget for Military was 616 billion. Never hear politicans talk about this that are paying almost as much on interest as on Military. Unfunded liability of US is over 200 trillion.
