Depends on wether I'm just out dikin around or fishing a tournament. If I'm just having fun its probably 2 because I'm usually skipping docks with sencos or jigs. If I'm fishing a tournament and getting my ass kicked it looks like a BPS store, if I'm on them maybe 3 or 4.
Seeing as I have an older boat with the 'goofy' front deck layout, I don't have a lot of room so usually have no more than 3 on the deck and one in the hand

In tournaments my partner and I may have 30 or more all over the dam place!

I usually keep 3 baitcasters and 4 spinning rods on deck ,once I know more or less what I'll be doing I'll try to put a few away but that don't usually happen till the boats on the trailer lmao

Usually start with 5 - my 2 "standards" (popper, swimjig) and 3 others depending on where i'm fishing and whether or not i'm fishing smallies or largies.

As many as I need. I junk fish, so I’m throwing everything in the boat and can have 8-15 at most times. Never less than 5-6.
To me 5 is the perfect amount. Covers all the bases.
3 or 4.. I don’t need to go for any swims.. Usually keep them on one side.. the opposite side to the one I’m currently fishing..

Guess I'm different. I'll have 15 or more out. I like to have a rod rigged and ready so I can just bend over and grab it.
3 Max. I will put them back in the locker if I'm not using them. I only keep 7 or 8 in the boat and don't carry much tackle.
I limit things to 5 outfits at one time. Any more than that just leads to confusion, and I can't catch anything on those I don't think another 5 is going to help me.
8-10 for me.
