    Replacing onboard charger....

I need to replace my onboard charger. 3 bank, around 5-8 amps per bank. What has been the best way to go?

    Dual Pro Recreation Series

    Minn Kota On-Board Digital Charger

    NOCO Genius GENM3

    ProMariner 43021 ProSport

    Thanks for any advise!!!

I replaced my original a few months ago with a Minn Kota and it has worked well. No complaints.

I still have my Dual Pro in my Ranger but I have 2 friends who replaced theirs with the Minn Kota digital, 3 bank 5 amp model, and like them a lot with no issues.

Out of those listed I'd go with either NOCO or MK......

They're all going to charge your battery. Pick the one that you get the best deal on.

I have the dual pro recreational charger and it works good for overnight charging or midday charging. It is not a lightning fast charger depending on how low the battery’s are it could take 5 hours for full charge but I am happy with it.

What's to like about a battery charger, it either works or it doesn't. If it works and you got a good price, great. If it doesn't work you chit can it and get another one.

If you're on a tight budget then I would go with NOCO. If you're looking for reliability and servicability then I would go with Dual Pro.

I didn't have luck with the dual pro that came with the ARIES, or the replacement. The minn Kota digital that replaced the second dual pro has been in it for years. I have had a minn kota PC I believe, in another boat for years with no issues.
But Stealth 1 DC charger I wouldn't want to be without on the ARIES. And because of it, I charge off my truck while in tow. Good luck which ever you get.

    1) DP, but not the Recreation Series (now called by the Real Pro series) which are made overseas, and only 2 year warranty. Step up to the Sportsmen or Pro Series, which are made in the USA, have Delta Volt for better AGM compatibility, and have a three year warranty

    2) Minn Kota PC series

I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. I'd probably buy a NOCO if I were getting one now and paying retail prices.

I currently have a quad bank ProMariner Elite and have been happy with it. It does a great job charging and managing my batteries . One feature it has that others did not have at the time I got it is that it will distribute amperage across banks when needed, it's not locked into a maximum per bank which means it charges faster than others even rated at higher amperages...I suspect they all do that now though. They do have good customer service -- I ended up with it at a great price (like more than half off) when an older ProMariner I had kicked the bucket pretty far outside warranty. That one was a three bank, and they had no issues with me upgrading to the four bank.

I'd go with the one that fits the best in the spot you have.
That's why I switched my Dual Pro to MK.

I had a Dual Pro that lasted 15 years and my current boat has a 17 year old Dual Pro. There are a lot of good chargers but I am happy mine have lasted this long and worked well.

    Thanks for any advise!!!

I’d buy that order. My personal preference is Dual Pro first, then MK. I’ve owned and still own both, but take DP over them all.

Another vote for the Stealth system here!

If you can fit it in your budget then I would recommend the Dual Pro Sportsman series.
