Lightbulb Trick Cast: How to win $20 off ur buddy

Too much time on my hands. A buddy showed me this about 15 years ago, he saw a pro doing it at a seminar years ago. Wow ur friends and take their money

Some folks have confused this with a crappie sling shot or fly fishing bow and arrow cast. I locked down the rod so you can see it with zero rod movement:

Wait, how is this a trick cast? It is known as a bow and arrow cast. Crappie fisherman know this as shooting. Heck, even for bass, there is a system for this:

Those guys have nothing on Shag Shahid or Stan Fagerstrom. If you've never saw these guys in action back in their prime, they were astounding!

I'm aware of the shooter cast, you load the rod tip to fling it. you don't load the rod in the cast I show. the rod i used is a light action topwater rod, had it handy with braid. you can use a muskie rod or a flipping stick, with zero tip action, and it will still cast.

So, all the rod moving to lead up to the last step doesn't count?

I guess I am confused, the rod moves. You move it by pulling on the line??? It might not be a casting move, but the rod for sure moves.

Watch the follow up video, no rod movement and still casts.

Years ago in Decatur, AL Shag Shadid was at a Outdoor Show. I have never seen anyone as amazing with a rod in his hand. quite sure he was affiliated with Lew's at the time. I know he designed some of the handles on the original Lew Chilre rods.

The financial relationship I have with my buddies is not based on parlor tricks.

If I want or need $20 from them, I’ll just ask politely.

Jeff your telling your age. I was around those guys a lot. Scotty was another one. Shag taught Scotty. Shag use to get a lot of free lunches baiting people he couldn't get a jig in a Styrofoam cup from about 30 yards or so.
