    G3 Eagle 180 Prop

I just bought an 09 eagle 180 with a Yamaha 4s 115 on it. The boat came with a 19 pitch stainless prop and I’m seeing 45 mph at 5500 RPMs. Looking to see if there is anything else I can do pick up a little more speed and see what props work with this hull. Speed is gps and rpms off the tach.

Well, I have an '09 version of the same. I had a 6" jp installed on mine and it really helped free the boat up. Still no speed demon though, get about 47 gps at 6000 rpm. Thinking about trying a different prop also, maybe a 4 blade stern lifting prop, as I have issues with porpoising.

Mine doesn't porpoise as it has the tabs on the hull. What prop do you run to get to 6k rpm.

I'm running the original Yamaha K19 Stainless that came on it.

That is the same prop I am running the motor is mounted in the 2 nd hole from the top. Think I will raise it one hole and see what happens. Plan on adding a jack plate later on. Which one did you go with.

    I had an aluminum 18 foot skeeter(g3) with a Yamaha 115 2 stroke. I ran a ballistic 13..5 x 22 prop. No jack plate and I could hit 50 gps.

18 ft. aluminum boats with 115 will run around 45 to 48 mph in fishing mode. Take out the tackle one guy and set up right you will see 50. There will be exceptions but rare.

I agree. When loaded with 2 mid 40s. The times I hit 50 was me alone, loaded light and the water had to be Perfect.

I have a Tracker 175TXW with Mercury 75hp Fourstroke flashed to 115. I have been toying around with props, and after a 6" Vance manual jack plate I have arrived at a 19" pitch Michigan Wheel Apollo XHS prop at 4.5" prop-to-pad or prop-to-V (currently - will raise the engine soon to see if I can improve numbers). This yields 47 MPH @ 5800 RPM.

I would say, depending on the recommended power range for that engine and it's current mounted height, that you could potentially gain speed by raising the engine. This is easier to accomplish with a jack plate, and the jack plate has additional benefits as well that may improve top speed.

If you added a jack plate and raised the engine RPMs may increase with your current prop, which may allow you to increase in pitch by 1" or so. This may net a small increase in top speed however, so it may not be worth it.
