bracket mounting location for PP

What is the preferred method on a bass boat? on the side of jackplate or sandwiched behind the transom? i am thinking sandwiched but just found out about the other mounting option.

if you have a jackplate , mounting to the jackpalte is the best fastest and easiest mounting option provided the jackplate can be sidemounted to, (there are a few that cant). If you dont have a jackplate there is the sandwich mount brackets or in some applications the mtos adapter plates with the sidemount jackplate brackets bolted to those. 10 foot blades with no jackplate is one example) there are many others.
