Yamaha 115 Four Stroke Fuel Filter Question

I did not want to be around other people if possible because of the pandemic. I ordered and oil and filter kit for my Yamaha 115 four stroke.

My question relates to the little plastic fuel filter. I unscrewed the little clear plastic housing off, took out the old filter, pushed in the new filter, added a little gas to the container, changed the o-ring, screwed the container back on. My question is this.... the clear plastic has only about 1/3 level of fuel that you can see through the clear plastic. I thought this should be fuller. The motor seems to run fine, I am just asking if this 1/3 or so level of gas in the canister is normal. I thought it used to be more full.....Thanks.

I have an old F150 4s. The bowl on the front of the intake stays full. I don’t know what that means for yours. Do you have a primer bulb that you can squeeze to fill the bowl?
