    Terrova to Ulterra worth it?

    I have a 2015 80lb Terrova with spot lock.
Is it worth upgrading to a 2016 Ulterra with Ipilot Link.?
I think the auto deploy is cool and the tracking on mine doesn't work as well as it used to.
Would cost me about $800 to upgrade
    Here is the ad
24 volt Ulterra 80 lb thrust trolling motor. 60 inch shaft. I PILOT LINK. Remote. Foot pedal. Check minn kota website for all the details if not familiar with this product. Auto stow and deploy. Power trim etc. This unit is awesome! Bought bigger boat so upgraded to 112 lb thrust.

Are you sure it is a 2016? If it is you will not have the newer more accurate Spot Lock. I see a heading sensor. That would not work with the 2016 Ulterra. I don't see the remote, that would tell me if that is a Bluetooth motor or not. With no warranty left you need to know exactly what you are buying and if it works properly. Bob

New spot lock came out in 2017. A 2016 would be the original version, not very good.

Get a picture of the serial number and use the sticky Jonn put up at top to determine year.

The older gen 1 ulterras can be upgraded to Bluetooth with the newer spotlock, think that's the only legacy motor that can be upgraded to Bluetooth. With what's in the picture( heading sensor and gen 2 link remote) and if it's a 2016 model I would guess that what is for sale, a legacy ulterras with the upgraded Bluetooth remote and head

Yes, if you look at the model number it has "BT" (Bluetooth) at the of the model number. The Bluetooth came out in 2017 on gps guided trolling motors. If everything works then that is a good deal

Gave the guy a verbal agreement and pick it up Monday.
But.... he put a new battery in the remote and now the screen shuts down after a few seconds.
Took $400 off the price incase I need to buy a new remote.
Seems like a decent guy on the phone.

Sounds like a real good deal now! Plus you will know how to find the seller again if you should need to. Enjoy your new stuff. Download the manuals and do some reading.

Love my Ulterra... I fish alone 80% of the time and launching the boat with the remote is awesome!. I am use the remote mostly unless I’m fishing docks. Even find myself fishing from the back of the boat sometimes. The best thing is that when you get ready to move to another spot. And sit down in the cockpit only to realize that you forgot to stow the trolling motor just hit stow on the remote or Helix.

I picked up the Ulterra yesterday. The more I look into it there are so many cool features with the LINK system.
Downloaded the app for my phone and will order the mini remote.
Time to figure out how to network everything.
