One of the best drummers you've (probably) never heard of...

Meet Matt Greiner, the drummer for August Burns Red.

He and my son became friends while on ABR's headline tour last spring (son was working with their opening band, Miss May I)… 30 plus cities in U.S./Canada in a little over 5 weeks.

Matt's video in the Zildjian LIVE! series dropped on YouTube yesterday; pretty cool piece.

Oh; and if you like bass guitar work, there's a little bit of that in here, too.

    Enjoy!

    He's decent.

One of my favorites is Derek Roddy.

Drummer seems pretty good but that kind of music would have me climbing walls if I had to listen to more than a minute of it.

Seriously?!? Better than Ginger Baker, John Bonham or Neil Pert?!? For each their own, and I like Godsmack. He's good but not one of the greatest.

FWIW, Neil Peart will always be without equal, in my book... there’ll never be another on that plateau.

Just threw this video out there for my appreciation of the collaboration.

...and Dean, you basically described it the way my son did when he said, “Dad, check out Matt’s new video... I think you’ll enjoy it.”

I agree Hat, and I'm not a big rush fan. The band you posted is unique and I appreciate their talent although that type of music isn't my cup of tea.
