How are the folding cleats secured to the gunnel?

    Just screwed into it?

Would like to add another 1 or 2.

Does anyone know if the screw spacing I the same as a conventional cleat? They would make for a nice upgrade.

I used the same Amazon cleats on my boat, had to drill one new hole. The cleat covers original hole.
