    2019 Cougar with a 250 G2, prop ??

Asking this question for my Dad. He is looking for all around performance, more so hole shot, and mid range, not so much top end. He rarely drives much over high 65-70 He is wondering about a four blade like a bravo 1xs ? Anybody have any experience ? He has a manual JP. What should his prop to pad be? Thanks for the info

4 blade fury might be a good choice? I believe evinrude also has a very good 4 blade prop for G2's? 4 blade better in my opinion also. i have a bravo1 fs and it works great. I would call basscat as I believe they will know what to try. what is current prop and pitch? does motor rev up good on takeoff ? 3500k or so? also ask them for prop to pad settings?

might repost in evinrude area also?

26 raker works great open vents all the way up jumps right up and will stay on plane at 18 mph. My boat will get 80 + with this prop on our overcrowded lakes it cruises around fine in the 60s

Prop to pad is usually set by feeling te engine torque. There is no good firm number on ANY boat as the loads, boats, props and people all are different and thus the engine heights can vary 1” on the same equipped rigs.

Thank you for the replies. His performance is not bad by any means with the 26 raker. Now I think he is going to open the vents and play with the jack plate a little and see what happens. The main thing that brought this on was he is coming out of a 520 ranger with a 250 pro xs that he had put a bravo 1 xs four blade on, and it really made a huge difference in the low and mid range compared to the tempest 3 blade that was on it. So he was just thinking he may be able to get similar results going to a 4 blade on the new Cougar and G2. He is running twin PP, and with full tanks of fuel and half of BPS in the boat, thought a four blade might help some. Any one else has any thoughts please chime in thanks

I run a Bravo 1 XS on my Eyra, Mercury 250 2 stroke. It’s my overall favorite prop, like it quite a bit more than the Fury 4. The Bravo XS does everything for me that you stated your dad wanted, better hole shot and it has excellent mid range.
